I took time to walk around the SAQA Maine weekend shooting pictures. Woodstock,  Vemont Sculpturefest 2011  will open with a reception for the artists and community at four o clock on Saturday, September 3rd. The annex exhibition at the King Farm also opens at this time. Access to the King Farm is open from Prosper Road ,via a short walk through a woods path. This is a 12" x 12" mono-printed piece of fabric with fused fabrics, reverse applique, watercolor pencils and couched ribbon. This picture was taken while the work was in progress.The finished piece is a little different but not by much. I removed the sheer mono-printed ribbon at the top and added a bit more watercolor pencil. I am very pleased with it.

sketchbook challenge I have never kept an ongoing sketchbook.  My mind has always found itself sketching so why use my hands to record what could be rapidly done without the disappointment of a shaky hand? So, with this challenge I have been feeling a bit self conscious about my sketchbook pages.  Self conscious of myself, that is!  If I can't do it beautifully and perfectly then why do it?

I had a fantastic weekend.  I drove down to the NE Quilt Museum to see my friends and fellow SAQA members at the NE SAQA show, No Holds Barred".  It was great to see people who I have recently enjoyed the camaraderie of creating fiber art with as well as old friends and acquaintances.  I met some new people too while looking at the fabulous fiber art on the walls.  SAQA events are worth the trip
